NVAO Board Update – 29 Apr 25

NVAO Members,

Just a few more days till NVAR participants from around the country will start converging on Auburn, CA. And folks who can’t make it to Auburn but will be meeting us as we cross the USA are getting their bikes in shape and are looking forward to hopping in with us to honor our Veterans.

All of our friends in communities along our route are ready and excited to see us again.

A Couple of Updates:

Although we’ve had some last-minute revisions, the 2025 NVAR Daily Ride Schedule on our website is totally up to date thanks to our amazing Webmaster, Roger Granbois. You can check it out at nvao.us.

For those of you who print out the schedule off of the website and take those sheets with you on the NVAR, be sure to refresh the site if you’ve been there recently so you’ve got the latest version of the schedule. To assure that you’ve got the latest schedule, attached is the last page of the schedule (May 24 and May 25) in Washington DC. That page was revised most recently.

You will note a change in the schedule on Saturday, 5/24. We were not able to get timed, entry passes for our group into the downtown Air and Space Museum, so we allowed riders to sleep a bit later, have a nice breakfast (free) at the hotel. and then head into DC to the Vietnam Memorial with time to visit other memorials as well. After visiting the memorials, we’ll head to Accokeek Fire Dept, 16111 Livingston Rd., Accokeek, MD.

Because some of the riders might have an interest in the Air and Space Museum, we are announcing a very optional ride to the larger, Smithsonian Air and Space Museum (Udvar-Hazy Center) in Chantilly, VA. Because this is a larger facility than the one in downtown DC, there are no timed passes required and no timed entry necessary. After our Sunday morning at Arlington National Cemetery and our lunch in Arlington, VA, the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum in Chantilly is only 25 minutes from our lunch spot.

After lunch, riders are on their own. Free time or a visit to the Air and Space Museum, 14390 Air and Space Museum Parkway, Chantilly, VA.

One last thing, if you’ve got any small items that could be fun prizes for the 50/50 raffles, please bring them and give them to the folks in the Chase Trailer

That’s it for now.

Be Careful out there.
