To plan and support programs which show honor and respect to our veterans.
To call for an accounting of all POW/MIAs.
To emphasize the importance that at no time is anyone left behind.
To educate all generations about the role of veterans in American society and that the price of freedom is not free.
To annually take part in and support Rolling Thunder and their efforts for government accountability of POW/MIAs.
To honor the memory of our veterans killed in action.
To assist veterans in healing from war.
Throughout the history of this great nation, men and women have served, defended, and sacrificed their very lives to ensure that we remain free. NVAO supporters take to heart that “Freedom is Not Free” and have adopted the following values and ideals as the very essence of our mission.
Each year, our organization plans and implements many veteran related programs and events. Education and support are key tools leveraged by the NVAO to provide public awareness of veteran related issues. Listed below are some of our programs and events.
National Veterans Awareness Ride to Washington D.C. (Northern Route)
Financial aid for ROTC programs in schools.
Initiate and support Student and Veterans essay reward programs to encourage students education regarding veterans.
Provide financial assistance to needy veterans.
Provide POW/MIA flags to schools as a means to remind students of the cost of freedom.
Support the “Bingo for Blind Veterans” programs sponsored by various American Legion Posts.
