Daily Participant Bio: Jerry Conner

Jerry was drafted into the Army and served from Sept. 1970 to May 1972 during which he was stationed at Fort MacArthur in San Pedro, CA. The Army sent Jerry to Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana to the Army Newspaper Editors School and when he came back to Fort MacArthur, he became the editor of the Star and Missile newspaper serving the fort.

Jerry says: “My 20 years riding with the National Veterans Awareness Ride have included some of the best moments of my life. Being part of a group that feels so strongly about remembering the sacrifices of military veterans and respecting all of those who have served has become an important part of my life. Lending a hand to those who are lonely or hurting has been a spiritual awakening for me.”
